    Engineering Notes

    Square width and split offset make this page different from the other S5 project.

    All four wheels measure 19×10, but front ET25 and rear ET30 place the same nominal width differently at each axle. That allows the wheel face to remain visually consistent without pretending that front and rear body clearance are identical. Current specifications record 5×112 PCD, CB66.5 mm and a 750 kg load rating.

    Mesh geometry is considerably denser than the split-spoke design used on the 2016 S5. Multiple branching sections form a layered radial pattern, making the center feel more technical and visually deeper. Glossy gunmetal keeps enough light on those surfaces for individual branches to remain visible.

    Gloss black is reserved for the independent rim. Because both finishes are dark, separation comes from tone, reflection and component depth rather than an obvious color contrast. Exposed hardware bridges the two areas and stops the outer section from disappearing completely into the barrel.

    Published wheel weights are 11.9 kg front and 11.7 kg rear. The rear figure is marginally lower despite identical width, and there is no need to invent an explanation for that difference—the verified values are already more useful than a generic lightweight claim.

    Square Does Not Mean Identical

    Matching 19×10 dimensions create one consistent overall wheel size.

    Offset then handles the axle-specific positioning.

    That is a more nuanced engineering story than a conventional stagger, because visitors have to look beyond nominal width to understand why the front and rear specifications remain different.

    Result

    Dark finishes give this wheel a more technical character than the lighter split-spoke S5 set without turning the face into a featureless black disc.

    Gunmetal keeps the mesh visible. Black pushes the lip and barrel visually backward. Exposed fasteners sit between those two depths, giving the wheel a layered appearance that becomes more pronounced as the viewing angle changes.

    The effect is detailed rather than loud—appropriate for a wheel whose strongest feature is the structure of the mesh itself.

    That keeps the mesh center at one consistent scale and avoids the need to create a visibly deeper rear face merely for appearance.

    ET25 Front / ET30 Rear

    Five millimeters separates the offsets.

    Small on paper, that change allows the two axles to use different face positions while retaining equal width. It is exactly the sort of fitment detail that should stay connected to the actual vehicle rather than disappearing under the label “square setup.”

    Mesh Needs a Dark Frame

    Gunmetal alone already creates a dense visual center.

    Using gloss black at the perimeter prevents the rim from competing with the mesh and makes the wheel appear deeper from an angle. A polished silver lip would create a very different, much brighter character.

    No Spacer Rings in the Existing Project

    Current Engineering Notes state that the hub-centric setup was produced without spacer rings.

    For another S5 with different suspension or brake hardware, share the vehicle setup with Xingtu before simply reusing ET25/ET30.
